Pfizer announces partnership with Private Access

25th August 2009

Pfizer has revealed that it will collaborate with enhanced search technology firm Private Access in order to build the profile of medical trial participation on the internet.

The two companies will work together to create a new online community designed to increase awareness of clinical trial participation and boost numbers in this area.

Concentrating on the privacy rights of participants, the resource will work to connect physicians, patients and researchers and provide them with tailored information.

It will also offer the details people need before making an informed decision about taking part in trials.

Freda Lewis-Hall, Pfizer’s chief medical officer, explained: “With unprecedented collaboration among key groups, Pfizer and Private Access believe we can build the preeminent online clinical trial community to be used industry-wide to share knowledge while giving patients […] confidence and control.”

Earlier this month, Pfizer announced that it would reduce the price tag on some of its HIV treatments for those suffering from the condition in developing countries.
