Pfizer is expanding its unit-based marketing strategy, it has been reported.
The animal health company has decided to move away from geographically-focused business units and divide the market into a number of specialist units instead, Motley Fool has said.
In addition to its three existing units specialising in animal health products, oncology products and products that are big global sellers despite losing patent protection, Pfizer is adding three more units.
These will focus on primary care products, speciality-care products and emerging markets. The news source suggested the latter may concern newly-prosperous counties such as China and India where healthcare costs are expected to grow.
