Pfizer to present new Xeljanz data at EULAR 2016

9th June 2016

Pfizer will be presenting new clinical data adding to the body of evidence supporting its drug Xeljanz at this week's European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) annual congress.

The company is sharing 23 abstracts, including research and analyses for the tofacitinib citrate therapy Xeljanz , at the congress in London, which runs until June 11th. The new and additional information will enhance the efficacy and safety profile of Xeljanz.

A number of analyses will provide information to help guide physicians on treatment approaches for the use of Xeljanz in moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis, including findings further contextualising its safety profile.

Data will also be shared that supports the use of Xeljanz citrate as monotherapy – without the need for methotrexate – include real-world efficacy results.

Michael Corbo, chief development officer of inflammation and immunology for Pfizer's global product development business, said: "The research being presented at EULAR 2016 illustrates our continued commitment to improving care for patients living with chronic inflammatory conditions, like rheumatoid arthritis."

Xeljanz is approved in more than 45 countries around the world for the treatment of moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis, but is yet to be approved for sale in the EU.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801819969-ADNFCR
