Alliance Pharmaceuticals has announced that Pharmexx has been appointed to promote Pavacol D in pharmacy.
The company said the product is the leading pharmacy-only brand of pholcodine cough medicine.
It claimed the drug comes in a pleasant-tasting formulation which is also sugar-free, making it suitable for diabetics.
Pavacol D is recommended for the use of children aged over six as well as adults and is available in 150ml and 300ml bottle sizes.
Nigel Mansford, managing director of Pharmexx, said: “Pavacol D is a brand with a strong prescription and repeat business built over the years but which is ideal for pharmacy to recommend for dry and irritating coughs.”
Pharmexx had previously signed a promotion agreement to promote the sales of a number of products from Alliance Pharma.
These included the Hydromol range of cream, emollient and ointment preparations for the treatment of dry skin conditions and the Aquadrate cream for similar conditions.
It also covered the Occlusal solution for veruccae and warts and Forceval preparation of minerals and vitamins for malnutrition.
