Philips and Validic ally to develop connected health services
Philips has announced a new partnership with Validic, a fast-growing company working in the field of connected health technology.
The collaboration will enable the integration of consumer-generated third-party health data into the Philips cloud-based HealthSuite digital platform, in order to power connected health solutions and services.
Validic's platform reaches approximately 223 million people in 47 countries and therefore offers Philips opportunities to expand the breadth and depth of its Personal Health Programs, Lifeline alert services and eCareCoordinator and eCareCompanion eHealth applications.
This will enhance the functionality of Philips' range of multivendor fitness wearables, remote monitoring devices and health apps, as well as medical devices such as blood pressure cuffs, health patches and glucose meters.
Jeroen Tas, chief executive officer for connected care and health informatics at Philips, said: "We can now take a next step by securely combining the data generated by someone's glucose meter and fitness tracker with their clinical data, so that caregivers can discover relevant and actionable insights."
