Philips announces partnership with Capsule
Philips and Capsule will join in partnership to help health organisations understand the benefits of connecting medical devices, it has been reported.
Together they will aim to enable vital data to be automatically sent into Philips’ information system without clinicians having to manually chart it, saving time for medical professionals and allowing them to spend more time with their patients.
Market development manager for Philips Thomas Kerker explained Capsule is an important international partner for the firm.
He commented: “It offers a proven, open architecture connectivity solution that provides integration between the many different medical devices our customers have into our ICIP-CC clinical information system.”
The first European implementation of Capsule’s DataCaptor 5.0 device connectivity solution with Philips ICIP-CC system will be at Hospital Sant Joan de Deu in Barcelona, Spain.
In addition to this, the two companies plan to implement their work at healthcare institutions globally over the coming months ? including France, Australia, Singapore and the United States.
Capsule was honoured by Frost and Sullivan with the Global Technology Leadership Award in 2008, as recognition for its contribution to the industry.
