Philips highlights strong Q1 2015 performance for oral health business

29th April 2015

Philips has announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2015, during which it achieved year-on-year growth and a strong performance in the oral health market.

The company recorded comparable sales growth of two percent during the period, reaching a total of 5.3 billion euros (3.82 billion pounds) and operational results of 327 million euros.

Its oral healthcare business delivered double-digit growth, with the UK, North America, Germany and China highlighted as strong-performing regions.

Philips is keen to continue this momentum with new product launches, having recently introduced its new Sonicare for Kids Connected toothbrush, Sonicare AirFloss Ultra and the Adaptive Clean brush head at the International Dental Show.

Frans van Houten, chief executive officer at Philips, said: "By making our products connected, there is future potential for data generation and integration into the cloud-based HealthSuite Digital Platform to ultimately provide total health and wellbeing solutions."

The Sonicare brand is the centrepiece of the Philips oral care portfolio, which also includes the AirFloss and Philips Zoom brands.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801785651-ADNFCR
