Philips introduces new personal health programmes at IFA
Philips has announced the introduction of a series of new personal health programmes at this year's Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) in Berlin.
The new tools are designed to empower consumers to take greater control of their health, with connected health measurement devices, an app-based personalised programme and secure cloud-based data analysis all coming under this umbrella.
Built on the Philips HealthSuite Digital Platform, the programmes will incorporate the Philips health watch, upper arm blood pressure monitor, wrist blood pressure monitor, body analysis scale and ear thermometer.
The first personal health programmes will go on sale in Germany in October 2015, to be followed by launches in other markets in 2016. The initial product wave will be followed by health programmes that focus on heart health, back pain and other areas.
Pieter Nota, executive vice-president and chief executive officer for personal health at Philips, said: "Consumers are increasingly engaged in their personal health and they want solutions that empower them to stay healthy and prevent illness."
