Philips launches healthcare informatics solutions and services unit
Philips has announced the launch of a new global healthcare informatics solutions and services unit within its Philips Healthcare division.
The new business will focus on providing customised clinical programmes, advanced data analytics and interoperable cloud-based platforms to hospitals and health systems, which will help them implement new models of care.
It will partner with healthcare providers to help improve access, lower cost and enhance quality across the continuum of care. Solutions spanning screening and diagnosis, treatment and monitoring, and aftercare at home will all be provided.
The new division will be led by Jeroen Tas, who previously served as the chief information officer of Philips, and is launching at a time when healthcare systems all over the world are looking to overhaul the way their services are managed.
Deborah DiSanzo, chief executive officer of Philips Healthcare, said: "As we continue to expand the tools, analytics, consulting and support, we are paving the way for providers to transition into more integrated, collaborative care."
This comes after the firm kicked off celebrations of the 100th anniversary of its research division last month, with centenary activities to take place throughout the year.
