Philips launches new interactive breast health app

20th October 2014

Philips has partnered with Breast Cancer Care on the launch of a new app that aims to help women to check their breasts for potential signs of cancer.

The updated and fully interactive version of the innovative Breast Cancer Care mobile app offers simple and easy-to-follow instructions while helping to provide education to encourage regular checks and assist users in becoming more breast-aware.

Available to download on iOS devices, the app's launch comes as part of a wider series of efforts on the part of Philips to help raise awareness of breast cancer and improve the tools available to diagnose and treat it.

These include the introduction of the MicroDose SI low-dose mammography technology and the development of the new Minicare Home Monitoring service.

Alwena Hall, marketing manager for Philips Healthcare UK, said the app will make it "easier to check for symptoms on a regular basis, to help protect breast health, and our technology provides increased comfort and confidence for people who may be undergoing breast cancer investigations or treatment".

Last month, the company announced plans to restructure its business by splitting into two organisations, with its lighting division set to become a separate business.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801755403-ADNFCR
