Philips Medical announces partnership to improve customer service
Philips Medical has announced a partnership with UPS, the logistics and courier company, to overhaul its global service parts logistics (SPL) system.
Currently, Philips Medical operates next-business-day delivery target, but the new five-year contract will enable Philips Medical products to be delivered on the same day for critical parts and returns. The SPL network will operate across 50 countries using logistics providers in approximately 40 locations.
Bob Stoffel, UPS’s senior vice-president, remarked: “Philips Medical is raising the bar for service in its industry and UPS is excited by the opportunity to be part of this effort.”
“We already have a close relationship with Philips Medical and we look forward to helping Philips further streamline its complex transportation and logistics operations,” he added.
UPS already provides Philips Medical with transportation of cardiovascular and x-ray across Europe and Asia as well as various express delivery services. The courier will provide Philips with inventory handling, packaging, labelling and inspections of all deliveries.
Philips Medical employs 31,000 people across the world and its UK headquarters is based in Reigate, Surrey. It claims to be the market leaders in medical diagnostic imaging and patient monitoring.
Royal Philips Electronics, the parent company, is based in the Netherlands and employs 161,498 employees in over 60 countries.
