Philips Oral Healthcare launches new tool for X-rays

8th July 2009

Philips Oral Healthcare has launched the Veradius X-ray system, which is designed to offer increased flexibility to medical staff.

The company explains that the tool comprises a mobile arm with a super thin, flat detector that aims to streamline workflow, which should enhance the quality of care the patient receives.

Given that medical facility operating rooms are often crowded with equipment and people, it can be difficult to see other members of a team and the coordination of tasks can be tricky, the firm notes.

As such, the flat screen offered by the system means that valuable space in a facility can be freed up and provide more room for members of medical staff to move around.

Florian Schneeberger, senior director of surgery for Philips Healthcare, which is set to release its financial report for the second quarter of 2009 on July 13th, said that the introduction of the new system is representative of the firm’s commitment to driving innovation.
