Philips to assist in creation of spine care centres
Philips has entered into collaboration with SpineMark Corporation to develop and launch a series of spine care centres of excellence around the world.
The agreement will see the companies work together to create patient-centric facilities that allow spine care experts offer a comprehensive range of services to visitors, including diagnosis, surgery, pain relief and rehabilitation.
Under the terms of the deal, Philips will be responsible for providing medical technology such as MRI and CT scanners, as well as IT solutions and learning tools to improve standards of care.
Dr Eric Silfen, chief medical officer at Philips Healthcare, said: “SpineMark’s innovative care delivery model and our unique partnership will help simplify spine care and create a patient-friendly environment.”
The first centres to be created under the agreement will be launched in Spain, Turkey and the Netherlands in the first quarter of 2011.
Earlier this month, Philips posted its second quarter financial report, highlighting a 12 per cent sales increase compared to the same quarter of 2009.
