PrettyGreen hired for Nintendo UK brief

PrettyGreen has been hired by Nintendo UK to replace 77PR on a public relations brief.

PRWeek reports that head of communications at Nintendo UK Jo Bartlett oversaw the appointment of PrettyGreen, while agent-client intermediary firm AAR also worked on the deal.

In 2013, 77PR – the consumer arm of Fishburn – won the opportunity to handle the consumer account of Nintendo UK, but PRWeek stated it believes that 77PR did not express interest in putting itself forward to continue with this brief.

However, it is understood that Fishburn will carry on overseeing the corporate and European Union accounts of the global gaming giant, which has been behind the development of consoles and handheld gaming devices including the Wii, GameCube and DS.

PR and communications relating to these in the UK will now be handled by PrettyGreen, which describes itself as "an independent brand communications agency with a world-class team of creative marketing and media specialists, working together to bring brands and ideas to life".
