Procter and Gamble launches new Oral-B Genius smart toothbrush

Procter and Gamble has introduced a new electric toothbrush that incorporates an innovative new intelligent brushing system.

The Oral-B Genius toothbrush incorporates Position Detection Technology that combines motion sensors inside the brush with video recognition using a smartphone camera, allowing users to track areas being brushed and avoid missing any spots.

Instant feedback on the brushing of each zone of the mouth is provided by the Oral-B app 4.1, including guidance on the pressure being applied and the duration of brushing. This makes it easier for users to make sure they are cleaning their teeth in accordance with professional recommendations.

Other key features of the brush include its Oral-B Oscillating-Rotating-Pulsating Technology and round brush head.

Stephen Squire, global marketing director of Procter and Gamble, said: "Oral-B Genius sets a new standard in the industry, and will forever change how people approach brushing their teeth."

Past Oral-B research shows up to 80 percent of people spent insufficient time brushing in at least one zone in their mouth, while and 60 percent do not brush their back molars at all or spend insufficient time cleaning them.
