Protexin launches poster and leaflet on canine digestive health
Protexin has announced the launch of a new Digestive Health Drive poster and client leaflet that will provide essential health information to dog owners.
The new marketing material has been introduced to provide pet owners with more information on what constitutes normal digestive health in dogs. It offers guidance on how to examine stool samples and which signs are indicative of underlying digestive problems.
Running until the end of September 2014, the campaign has been launched in response to recent research from Protexin suggesting many pet owners do not act fast enough when responding to evidence of digestive ill health in their dogs.
Its analysis indicates that many veterinary surgeons believe clients only bring their dogs in for a consultation after they have had diarrhoea for a few days.
Of those questioned, 55 percent stated they would be interested in providing clients with faecal grading charts to demonstrate the different stages of stools, something that Protexin's new materials include.
The survey also showed that nearly 25 percent of vets believe they have seen an increase in diarrhoea cases in the last year, which is why the company introduced the Digestive Health Drive last month.
