Purina Prospers as Main Force Behind Revenue Growth for Nestlé

20th February 2023

According to the firm, Purina PetCare, a division of Nestlé that produces pet food and wellness products under the Felix and Bakers brands (among others), was the main force behind organic growth within the entire company.

Mr Schneider said: “Last year brought many challenges and tough choices for families, communities, and businesses. Inflation surged to unprecedented levels, cost-of-living pressures intensified, and the effects of geopolitical tensions were felt around the world.

This year “we expect robust organic growth, with a focus on restoring our gross margin, stepping up marketing investments and increasing free cash flow.” Our “value creation model puts us in a strong position to achieve targets and generate shareholder returns.”

The pet care subgroups’ premium offerings like Purina Pro Plan, and their veterinary products, experienced sustained sales growth.

Many of the markets these products are sold within saw increased revenue, reaching double digits in Europe ($20.7 billion), North America ($28.5 billion), and Greater China ($ 5.8 billion).

Throughout Asia, Oceania, and Africa, Nestlé saw high single-digit growth for Purina thanks to rising demand for premium pet food products.

ECommerce sales for Purina climbed by 9.2% and accounted for 15.8% of overall revenue generated.
