Qiagen launches new RNA panels for next-generation sequencing

15th February 2016

Qiagen has expanded its portfolio of Sample to Insight solutions for next-generation sequencing (NGS) with the launch of more than 170 new QIAseq Targeted RNA Panels.

These new gene expression profiling panels allow researchers to select from more than 20,000 human genes and lncRNA to survey expression fold changes, making it easier to discover interactions between genes, cellular phenotypes and disease processes.

They utilise innovative molecular barcode technology and built-in control assays, as well as integrated NGS library preparation and Ingenuity Pathway Analysis software.

Data analysis capabilities and insights are integrated into the QIAseq panels with easy-to-use, comprehensive analysis modules, meaning they can be used with no prior bioinformatics expertise.

Brad Crutchfield, senior vice-president and head of Qiagen's life sciences business area, said: "Our QIAseq panels make RNA sequencing more accurate and reproducible, with molecular barcode-based sequencing addressing the challenges posed by low-abundance transcripts, PCR duplicates and amplification bias."

This comes after the firm expanded its NGS offering further last week through a new co-marketing and co-development collaboration with 10x Genomics.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801812617-ADNFCR
