Qiagen to provide reagent libraries for Labcyte Echo microplates

Qiagen's FlexiPlate small interfering RNA (siRNA) reagent libraries are being made available to users of Labcyte Echo-qualified microplates, thanks to a new collaborative agreement.

Following this new arrangement, researchers will be able to use the Echo liquid handler to miniaturise the transfer of siRNA reagents, via reduced-volume screenings that provide better or equal results to those achieved using traditional liquid handlers.

Labcyte's clinically proven Echo system uses acoustic energy to move fluids without physical contact, meaning it provides higher accuracy and eliminates the possibility of cross-contamination.

The agreement will help to expand the benefits of the Labcyte device from the pharmaceutical sector to genomic and cell-based researchers.

Jorg Dennig, global product manager for Qiagen's RNAi unit, said: "Our siRNAs are provided in highly flexible formats and scales with an unlimited possibility to arrange targeted siRNA libraries according to the researchers' needs and with easy access via our GeneGlobe website."

Earlier this month, the company announced a pair of new licensing arrangements with Insight Genetics and Personal Genome Diagnostics for promising new oncology biomarkers.
