Quintiles acquires Nycomed healthcare solutions team

Quintiles has expanded its market access capabilities with the transfer of a healthcare solutions team from pharmaceutical company Nycomed.

The UK-based team are experienced in pharmaceutical industry dealings and have worked extensively with the NHS, allowing them to offer support to Quintiles clients throughout the country.

As part of the deal, which follows Nycomed’s decision to out-license a product to another healthcare firm, the team has initially been contracted back to Nycomed to complete its product promotion work.

Quintiles has expressed confidence that the addition of the Nycomed team will help to bring improved productivity, faster timelines and better value to its clients.

Chris Pepler, UK commercial managing director for the pharmaceutical services company, said: “With bolstered market access capabilities, our customers can rely on Quintiles to help shift the critical conversation about a drug from cost to value among regulators, payers, providers and patients.”

This comes after Quintiles expanded its phase I medical research facility in London earlier this year, adding capacity for an additional 35 volunteers.
