Quintiles completes Advion BioServices takeover

Quintiles has completed its takeover of Advion BioServices, a bioanalytical laboratory services provider based in the US.

The newly purchased organisation is being renamed Advion Bioanalytical Labs as part of its integration into Quintiles and will offer services such as Good Laboratory Practice pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic testing.

Employing more than 180 members of staff across its operations, the life science company will enhance Quintiles' ability to offer its clients actionable early-stage data for use in drug development projects.

It will also allow Advion to grow and expand its service remit on a global scale, which was a key driver behind its decision to authorise the takeover deal.

Thomas Wollman, senior vice-president for Quintiles Global Laboratories, said: "I believe we now have unsurpassed abilities to help companies gather early-stage data and gain insights aimed at reducing the risk of failure in expensive later-stage trials."

This comes after the company announced the acquisition of Outcome Sciences last month, a deal which will help to enhance its late-phase offerings.
