Quintiles names new late phase operations head

Quintiles has announced that Dr Cynthia Verst has been appointed as the new head of its late phase operations worldwide.

Dr Verst brings more than 17 years of biopharmaceutical industry experience to the company, which she is joining after a successful spell as senior vice-president for global late phase research at Ingenix.

Her previous roles include positions at Kendle and Procter and Gamble Pharmaceuticals, with her work pertaining to hundreds of phase IIIb and IV clinical studies worldwide.

In her new job at Quintiles, Dr Verst will be responsible for bridging the gap between peri-approval and commercialisation of marketed therapies.

John Ratliff, Quintiles' president and chief operating officer, said: "Dr Verst brings a dynamic leadership style and record of success in establishing and growing late phase operations."

Earlier this month, the company was named among the top 25 employers in Europe in a new ranking compiled by the Great Place to Work Institute.
