Quintiles report highlights biosimilar sector trends
Quintiles has published a new report that highlights the need for a coherent approach among companies seeking to capitalise on the growth of the biosimilar sector.
The biopharmaceutical service provider's new report has identified a need for a coherent approach to regulatory and commercial considerations, in order for firms to succeed in a growing and competitive market.
This will involve assessing the legal requirements for every sector companies intend to enter, before finding ways to accelerate patient recruitment for trials, selecting the right clinical endpoints and determining an appropriate commercialisation approach.
According to Quintiles, these issues will become more pressing as hurdles to entering the market diminish and major players begin to become involved.
Deepa Dahal, principal consultant for consulting at Quintiles, said: "The biosimilar market is expected to grow significantly, creating an enormous opportunity for biopharmaceutical companies."
This comes after the firm published a report showing the growing importance of real-world data in clinical development last month.
