Rackspace seeks new UK PR partner

Global cloud computing firm Rackspace has confirmed that it has begun a formal search for a new UK PR agency partner.

The company, which is reportedly being lined up for flotation, has launched a request for proposal (RFP) for a new brief covering corporate and business-to-business PR, as well as social media services, reports PRWeek.

Around ten agencies are thought to be in the running for the new contract with Rackspace, which currently works with the Red Consultancy on its UK comms activities, having previously collaborated with 3 Monkeys Zeno.

A Rackspace spokesman said: "Rackspace is running a formal RFP process for UK PR and social media. As the process is ongoing, we cannot comment on any specific detail at this stage."

The company offers services to help organisations shift their IT operations to cloud-based platforms, and has operated as a private business since 2016.

Media reports recently emerged revealing that the private equity firm Apollo Global Management is considering an initial public offering for Rackspace, with the process potentially set to start before the end of the year.
