Radiometer commits to corporate responsibility initiative

2nd June 2010

Radiometer has announced that it has joined Global Compact, a United Nations-led initiative which aims to promote corporate social responsibility (CSR).

As part of this, the science company has agreed to submit an annual Communication On Progress Report to highlight its efforts in pursuit of targets relating to principles such as human rights, the environment and combating corruption.

The firm explained that it has joined this initiative in order to make its CSR efforts a more formalised and integrated part of its corporate activities and business plan.

Radiometer president Peter Kurstein explained that CSR has always been a major focus, citing its “ethical approach” towards staff, supplier and sustainability issues.

Brian Baptista, the company’s director of international projects, added: “Being a part of the United Nations’ Global Compact underlines that we take our societal responsibility seriously and that we have a clear stand on our costumers, business partners and employees.”

Last week, Radiometer announced the launch of the Basic ABL80 Flex portable blood gas analyser, a device designed to be affordable and practical for smaller clinics.
