Radleys Heat-On blocks ‘significantly faster’

20th July 2007

Radleys’ Heat-On brand of heating blocks offers significantly faster temperature increases than competitors’ products, the company claims.

The manufacturer carried out research to determine whether its heating blocks outperform those made by competitors.

A technical bulletin announcing the findings states that the blocks require 30 per cent less energy than their counterparts to heat a stirred solution to 100 degrees C.

"The report concludes that the lower thermal mass of the Heat-On produces significantly faster heat-up times and faster post-synthesis cool down times," Radleys explains.

"In addition the Heat-On proprietary well design, that eliminates sticking and cracking of flasks associated with other heating block designs, maximises the heated surface area."

The firm adds that the 30 per cent reduction in energy required could save money, as well as impacting less on the environment.

Heat-On blocks can be used over short periods at temperatures of up to 260 degrees C, according to Radleys.ADNFCR-1050-ID-18218305-ADNFCR
