Randox Laboratories develops multiple analytes testing platform
Randox Laboratories has revealed it has developed a platform that allows the testing of multiple analytes on a biochip through the use of just a small amount of blood.
The body’s fertility panel has been created in an effort to reduce the cost and time implications of the regular measurement of fertility hormones.
It is thought that the new system enables a user to simultaneously test a number of co-dependent hormones and help to detect any problems that may need further investigation after initial testing.
The new panel contains follicle-stimulating hormones, luteinising hormones, estradiol, progesterone, testosterone and prolactin.
Randox’s announcement about the new platform has come after it recently revealed it has struck up a partnership with charity Action Cancer.
Under the joint deal, the bodies have launched a new campaign to promote awareness of bowel cancer throughout Northern Ireland.
The cancer is the third most common type in the country, with 430 people out of 1,000 dying of the condition each year.
