Randox lays out Evidence benefits
Randox has claimed its Evidence biochip system represents a revolutionary development in the assessment of the immune system’s influence.
According to the life sciences firm, the system enables a snapshot of cytokines in action by analysing a wide range of complex human-sample interactions simultaneously.
Discerning the influence of the immune response in a multitude of human conditions is facilitated via "comprehensive panels" with 35 cytokines and growth factors over five multi-analyte arrays.
"Cytokines are soluble signalling proteins and glycoproteins employed in cellular communication during immune and inflammatory responses," observes a statement from the company.
"They have been implicated in pathological conditions – such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, allergic response – and play a significant role in surgery recovery, including transplants," the statement continues.
Randox notes that measuring single cytokines "may miss an important facet of a response progression", making simultaneous detection a valuable source of information.
The firm concludes that greater understanding of disease process and its subsequent management will be the result of simultaneous measurement of the proteins – a consideration it deems "important in laboratory medicine".
UK-based Randox develops, manufactures and markets clinical diagnostic products worldwide.
