Ranieri wins UK PR brief for wearables brand Misfit

1st August 2016

Ranieri has once again been hired to handle UK PR activities for Misfit, a US-based supplier of wearable technology.

The agency has been selected following a competitive pitch and will be tasked with launching a PR, events and influencer campaign targeting the lifestyle, health and fitness and technology sectors, working alongside Pride PR in the Netherlands.

Misfit was co-founded by former Apple chief executive John Scully and markets brands such as Ray, Shine 2 and Speedo Shine 2, which will be the focus of Ranieri's marketing efforts.

The firm previously worked with Misfit to launch its Shine activity tracker in the UK in 2014, before UK PR work was taken in-house. However, Misfit has since been acquired by the Fossil Group in a deal worth $260 million (197.28 million pounds).

Efforts are now being made to extend the reach of the brand on a global basis, reflecting the current growth of the wearable and personal health technology sectors.

Pietro Ranieri, managing director of Ranieri, said: "We're looking forward to seeing where the Fossil acquisition takes Misfit in the future and are excited to be part of that journey."ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801822921-ADNFCR
