Reckitt Benckiser announces new chairman
Reckitt Benckiser has announced the appointment of Christopher Sinclair as the new non-executive chairman of its board.
Mr Sinclair will succeed Adrian Bellamy, who has decided to retire as chairman effective as of the company's 2018 annual general meeting, at which point he will also step down from the firm's board.
During Mr Bellamy's tenure as chairman, Reckitt Benckiser has been transformed from a household cleaning company into a global leader in consumer health and hygiene, with Mr Bellamy overseeing a number of strategic transactions and significant shareholder returns.
Mr Bellamy said: "I am delighted that I will pass the baton to Chris at next year's annual general meeting as Reckitt Benckiser continues to build its leadership in health, hygiene and home."
Mr Sinclair will bring considerable business experience to his new role, having previously served as president and chief executive officer of PepsiCo's food and beverage division, and as chief executive of the toy company Mattel.
