ResMed launches new S9 VPAP bilevel devices
ResMed has announced the launch of a new range of bilevel devices for use in the treatment of a variety of respiratory conditions.
The S9 VPAP range has been optimised to allow patients with conditions such as sleep apnoea and Cheyne-Stokes respiration to proactively manage their own therapy, thus helping to improve compliance.
They incorporate technical advances such as Climate Control, ResMed's automated adaptive humidification system, as well as Enhanced Easy-Breathe technology to provide maximum comfort.
ResMed has already recorded positive results in early market trials of the S9 VPAP range, with patients praising both the comfort and quietness of the system's operation.
Michael Farrell, senior vice-president of the global sleep business unit at ResMed, said: "Our goal is to increase patients' quality of life by providing comfortable, quiet, easy-to-use and highly effective treatment."
Earlier this year, company founder Dr Peter Farrell returned to the role of president and chief executive officer of ResMed, following the departure of Kieran Gallahue.
