ResMed reports record results for Q2 2014
ResMed has announced record-breaking financial results for the second quarter of 2014, which ended on December 31st 2013.
During the three-month period, the company generated revenue of $384.3 million (231.97 million pounds), a two percent year-on-year increase, while its net income and earnings per share respectively rose by 11 percent and 13 percent over the same timeframe.
Continued strong growth for the company's international operations helped to offset a subdued performance in the US, which was attributed to external economic and market conditions that are expected to ease.
The firm was able to release a number of important new products over the last three months, while securing regulatory approval for others. These launches will aid its efforts to capitalise on the growth of the sleep, respiratory care and cardiorespiratory markets.
Mick Farrell, ResMed's chief executive officer, said: "Our team has the mission of preventing disease progression, improving outcomes and reducing the cost of managing some of the most costly chronic diseases in the global healthcare system."
This comes after the firm last month announced the acquisition of Unimedis, a distributor of equipment for the treatment of sleep disordered-breathing in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
