ResMed reports solid growth in second quarter of 2018

ResMed has announced strong financial results for the second quarter of its 2018 fiscal year, ending on December 31st 2017.

During the three-month period, the company's revenue came to $603.1 million (GBP 4.26 million), representing a year-on-year increase of 13 percent, or 11 percent on a constant currency basis.

Key highlights of the quarter include the strong performance of ResMed operations in the Americas, Europe, Asia and other markets, as well as the encouraging results generated by the recently-acquired Brightree business.

The company also announced the release of Mobi, the first ResMed-branded portable oxygen concentrator, during the current quarter. This is expected to be a key product offering and driver of continued success in the second half of the year.

Mick Farrell, ResMed's chief executive officer, said: "Our masks have performed well around the world, device sales are solid and our cloud-based software continues to grow rapidly. Our operating excellence initiatives are achieving leverage in the business, with more runway ahead."
