Roche and Sysmex extend haematology alliance

Roche has signed a restated ten-year agreement with Sysmex pertaining to the sale of haematology products in various international territories.

The renewed distribution, sales and services arrangement will see Roche continuing to sell Sysmex haematology instruments, reagents and data management solutions in parts of Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas.

Sysmex has been distributing products through Roche since 1999, an arrangement that has helped to expand market share for both organisations, while also creating a favourable business relationship between the two.

The latest addition to Sysmex's product portfolio, the XN series, has recently been released and will support Roche's strategy of offering customised modular solutions to meet laboratory needs.

Colin Brown, head of Roche Professional Diagnostics, said: "This embraces our goal to strengthen and to expand Roche's offering in central laboratories in hospitals and commercial laboratories."

Earlier this month, the company published its fiscal report for the first quarter of 2012, during which it saw a two percent year-on-year improvement in terms of group sales.
