Roche appoints new UK general manager

Roche has announced the appointment of Jayson Dallas as its new general manager for the UK.

Mr Dallas took up his new role on January 2nd and will be based at the company's Welwyn Garden City site, bringing more than 16 years of pharmaceutical industry experience to the position.

A qualified physician from South Africa, he previously worked for Roche, Pharmacia/Pfizer and Novartis in both domestic and global roles including medical affairs and business leadership positions, returning to Roche two-and-a-half years ago.

He has been appointed as the successor to John Melville, who has retired from the post after 12 years.

Mr Dallas said: "I very much look forward to leading the high achieving and motivated people in our company to achieving our goals as we work within the changing NHS environment."

This comes after the firm announced that its chief executive officer Dr Severin Schwan will be proposed as a new member to the board of directors at its 2013 annual general meeting.
