Roche Diabetes Care is piloting a smart tool to help people with diabetes share data with their GP
Roche Diabetes Care is piloting a state-of-the-art smart tool, which helps people with diabetes share data with their healthcare professionals, in Swansea, so that their GP can support them remotely.
The platform, which uses a traffic light system, collects data on patients’ blood glucose levels collected over a period, which it can then use to highlight patterns.
Roche’s insights are based on data from multiple apps and medical devices used by people with diabetes. Therefore, patterns in low or high sugar levels at specific times can be swiftly linked to regular activities in their daily routine.
Medical Affairs lead, Roche Diabetes Care, Dr Claire Marriott, stated: “Healthcare has had to adapt to become more digital over the course of the pandemic. The RDCP is an important tool and we hope it will enable HCPs to support people with diabetes to manage their own condition more easily and to do so remotely. We are very proud to support people with diabetes, who might feel worried about going to their GP surgeries for regular check ups at this time.”
