Roche employees to raise money for children

1st December 2008

Roche is holding its sixth annual Children’s Walk today (December 1st) to raise money for orphans and other vulnerable children.

Some 14,000 employees from the healthcare group’s 100 international sites will take part in the sponsored walk – with funds raised matched by Roche.

Chief executive Severin Schwan explained the company is in "a unique position" to improve people’s lives.

"Our Children’s Walk is also unique, as it brings together colleagues from all over the world, from different functions and teams," he said.

Mr Schwann will be taking part in the event with many of his colleagues, he added.

The funds will go towards supporting day care centres in Malawi, in partnership with the European Coalition of Positive People, which care for over 3,000 children who have been orphaned due to Aids. Unicef’s Schools for Africa project will also receive some of the money raised by Roche’s Children’s Walk.

People in scientific sales jobs may also be interested in Roche’s products, which include items for researchers, solutions for diagnostics and pharmaceuticals. ADNFCR-1050-ID-18904390-ADNFCR
