Roche recognised in Dow Jones Sustainability Index
Roche has been ranked as the most sustainable healthcare company in the world by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for the fourth consecutive year.
This year's Dow Jones assessment highlighted a number of key achievements by Roche, including its commitment to medical innovation and personalised healthcare research, plus its efforts to develop future leaders and uphold human rights.
Other aspects of the company's strategy that were singled out for praise include its pilot programmes for differential pricing in developing countries, plus its boardroom diversity and energy efficiency commitments.
The firm is currently working towards a number of five-year sustainability goals announced in 2009, with several key performance indicators allowing it to measure progress.
Severin Schwan, chief executive officer of Roche, said: "Roche's ranking as the most sustainable healthcare company builds on the continued efforts to do business in a way that benefits all our stakeholders."
Earlier this month, the company held an investor event in London, during which it highlighted its progress towards its clinical pipeline development goals.
