Roche signs distribution deal with DxS
Roche has signed an exclusive distribution deal with DxS for DxS TheraScreen K-RAS and TheraScreen EGFR 29 mutation tests.
The contract sees Roche granted exclusive worldwide distribution rights for the K-RAS test and exclusive rights for all global markets except for Hong Kong, Mexico, Canada and the USA for the EGFR.
Both tests hold CE Mark certification.
Daniel O’Day, president and cheif executive officer of Roche Molecular Diagnostics, explains that there is a growing demand for tests to identify patient groups that are more likely to benefit from a certain drug.
“Through our partnership with DxS, we can leverage our extensive global infrastructure and commercial reach to provide these tests, which have the potential to improve treatment outcome in some patients,” he adds.
In other news from Roche, the firm announced in recent days that research suggested that Avastin (bevacizumab) increases the chance of living without disease progression in metastatic breast cancer.
