Salix and Co hires new client services director

Salix and Co has announced the appointment of experienced health PR professional Russell Elliott as its new client services director.

Mr Elliott joins the agency from Virgin Care, where he acted as head of comms and patient experience, taking responsibility for overseeing PR and corporate affairs strategies at a time when the firm was enjoying a 400 percent growth rate.

His experience includes heading up PR, public affairs, internal, online and digital comms departments in the healthcare, pharmacy, property and finance sectors, while he has also spent time in journalism and copywriting.

The new recruit said Salix and Co's in-depth understanding of the health sector, and in particular the NHS, played a key role in his decision to join.

The agency has experience of working with clients such as the Department of Health, NHS Alliance, Novo Nordisk and Pharmacy Voice.
