Sanofi and G3 announce coronary artery disease research partnership

6th January 2016

Sanofi has partnered with Global Genomics Group (G3) on new research into signalling pathways in atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases.

The companies are seeking to identify new signalling pathways and targets involved in the etiology of coronary artery disease, utilising G3's proprietary platform and data from its G3LOBAL Database.

Their aim will be to unravel the molecular underpinnings of LDL-cholesterol regulation and to gain a better understanding of how patients may benefit from interference with these novel signalling pathways.

G3's G3LOBAL Database has been developed to enable drug manufacturers and biomedical research scientists better understand the molecular networks underlying human disease, thus improving the drug discovery and development process.

It is derived from the GLOBAL clinical study, which recruited up to 10,000 patients to characterise novel disease networks and biomarkers.

Dr Szilard Voros, founder and chief executive officer of G3, said: "We believe that precision phenotyping, pan-omics and systems-biology driven bioinformatics are the key components of target identification, validation and the elucidation of novel pathways."ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801809389-ADNFCR
