Sanofi-aventis receives CEO Cancer Gold Standard accreditation
Sanofi-aventis has received CEO Cancer Gold Standard accreditation for its efforts in helping employees reduce their cancer risk, it has announced.
The firm explained that the certification, which is given to firms that have met “exceptionally high” standards of cancer prevention, care and screening in the workplace, came from the non-profit body CEO Roundtable on Cancer.
Sanofi-aventis is the 34th enterprise to have received the award since its inception in 2006.
Other firms that have received the accreditation include GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer and AstraZeneca.
Christopher Viehbacher, chief executive of Sanofi-aventis, said that the firm is “proud” to have been recognised for its “steadfast dedication” to cancer care and prevention.
“For more than 50 years, Sanofi-aventis has worked to improve the lives of patients with cancer,” he added.
William Weldon, chair of the CEO Roundtable on Cancer and chairman and chief executive of Johnson & Johnson, stated that Sanofi-aventis has demonstrated “unwavering dedication” to tackling cancer.
