Sanofi launches latest Patient Group Bursary Scheme

Sanofi has announced the launch of its UK Patient Group Bursary Scheme, which has been expanded this year to provide more opportunities to smaller charities.

Now entering its fourth consecutive year, the scheme will be awarding two bursaries to UK patient groups to support programmes running throughout the year, including a gold prize of 25,000 pounds and a silver award of 15,000 pounds.

New for this year will be an additional bursary category of 10,000 pounds, which will be awarded specifically to support the work of patient groups with incomes of 300,000 pounds or less.

Since 2011, Sanofi has provided assistance to eight different groups. Applications for this year's scheme will close on May 28th 2014.

Ian Weatherhead, communications director for Sanofi in the UK and Ireland, told PharmaTimes: "Sanofi has a strong history of working in partnership, both at the brand and corporate level, with patient groups to develop initiatives that improve patient care on both a national and local level."
