Sanofi launches new diabetes management game for mobiles
Sanofi has launched a new diabetes management app for type 1 diabetes patients, in association with Ayogo Health and Diabetes UK.
The Monster Manor game is available for iOS and Android devices and is designed to help children and their families to stay on top of their blood glucose monitoring in a fun and engaging way.
Testing and logging blood glucose levels within the game's built-in tracker system generates positive feedback for youngsters and improves adherence to treatment. Currently, it is estimated that only 15 percent of young children manage to achieve their blood glucose targets.
Andrew Hockey, medical director for Sanofi Diabetes, said: "For children with type 1 diabetes who are resistant to testing, this new app could help manage their condition with the promotion of better behaviours to supplement and support their daily regimen."
Sanofi is responsible for the development of several important diabetes therapies, such as Lyxumia and Lantus, as well as investigational compounds such as U300.
