Sara Lee reveals quarterly dividend

Sara Lee has revealed its quarterly dividend.

Declared as $0.11 (0.07 pounds) per share, the amount is payable on April 7th, 2009, the company said.

It went on to note the sum – the company’s 252nd consecutive dividend – can be payed to shareholders on March 2nd.

Last month, the company announced its executive vice-president and chief financial officer Theo de Kool was to retire in June 2009.

Speaking at the time, Mr de Kool said it had been a “privilege” to work at Sara Lee for 18 years, noting he was “proud” of the finance, IT and procurement departments built.

He added: “I am committed to continuing my responsibilities at Sara Lee throughout the remainder of the year and working with senior management and the board of directors to ensure a smooth transition.”

The company’s brands include Douwe Egberts, Ambi Pur, Sanex and Senseo, among others.
