Sartorius boosted by scales and biotech apps
Sartorius has revealed its first-half profits for 2007 were boosted by sales of its weighing equipment and disposable products for biotech applications.
The firm also noted the importance of the transaction between French-based company Stedim and Sartorius’ biotechnology division.
Under the terms of the deal, which closed on June 29th, Sartorius became the majority shareholder in a newly-formed amalgam of the two companies.
Dr Joachim Kreuzburg, executive board chair and chief executive officer of Sartorius, said: "By combining our biotechnology division with Stedim, we are boosting the group to new levels."
"For 2007, we expect to generate pro forma sales revenue of more than 25 per cent above the actual 2006 sales revenue figure," he added.
The biotechnology division alone saw growth of 10.1 per cent in order intake over the first six months of the year.
Sartorius’ mechatronics division also experienced an increase in orders of 6.4 per cent over the same period in 2006.
