Sartorius nine-month figures for 2013 show solid gains
Sartorius has announced significant gains in order intake, sales revenue and earnings during the first nine months of 2013.
The company's financial report for the year to date revealed an order intake total of 669.9 million euros (570.95 million pounds) for the period, up by 7.7 percent year-on-year in constant currency terms, while sales revenues rose by 5.2 percent to 657.3 million euros.
Its largest division – bioprocess solutions – was once again the primary contributor to Sartorius' strong business performance following a sharp rise in order intake, while its lab products and services and industrial weighing also saw improvements.
The company's sales growth was highest in Asia, followed by Europe, while recent efforts to improve profit levels paid dividends during the nine-month period.
Based on the group's business performance in the first nine months, Sartorius' management confirmed its earnings forecast for the full-year period, with sales revenues expected to increase by seven percent.
This comes after the firm agreed a new alliance with BD earlier this month to develop and commercialise new ready-to-use, prefilled media products for microbiological applications.
