Sartorius Patent Allegations Dropped Against Gator Bio

10th July 2023

A Hearing Officer for the USITC (US International Trade Commission) has recently declared that a Section 337 examination into Gator Bio’s biolayer interferometers is now over.

This followed an allegation made back in October of last year by Sartorius BioAnalytical Instruments, who claimed Gator Bio had violated 4 patents.

However, after carrying out a careful investigation, the hearing officer decided that one of the accusations was void owing to ‘indefiniteness’.

Not long after the decision was made, Sartorius chose to withdraw the other patents from the probe. Then, at the end of June, the whole examination was officially closed.

According to the company, Gator Bio believes strongly that their latest biolayer interferometry technology does not violate any patent or licence held by another company.

They aim to fiercely protect their intellectual property from any upcoming threats while striving to push boundaries and build a strong product line.

The ultimate objective is to produce cutting-edge solutions that increase the efficiency of research and development for biotherapeutics.
