Sartorius reports double-digit growth in 2015

Sartorius has announced its financial results for 2015, during which it achieved or exceeded its goals for the year.

The company's preliminary figures for the year show it achieved a sales revenue total of 1.11 billion euros (841.48 million pounds), up by 16 percent year on year in constant currency terms or by 25.1 percent on a reported basis.

This was ahead of expectations, while its order intake climbed during the same period by 17.1 percent to 1.17 billion euros. Its main growth driver was its bioprocess solutions division, allowing the firm to gain a greater market share within the biopharmaceutical industry.

Its lab products and services division also performed well, with this success allowing the firm to expand its workforce by around ten percent during the year and smoothly integrate its recently-acquired businesses.

Dr Joachim Kreuzburg, chief executive officer of Sartorius, said: "For 2016, our outlook is positive and over the medium term we also continue to see ourselves on track to grow significantly and profitably."

The company forecasts that sales will grow approximately ten to 14 percent in constant currencies over the coming year, while it has raised its longer-term earnings target for 2020.
