Sartorius signs supply agreement with Thermo Fisher Scientific

18th May 2007

Sartorius has signed an agreement with Thermo Fisher Scientific for the reciprocal supply of products for biopharmaceutical process applications.

The agreement will see TC Tech supply Sartorius with disposable process containers until the end of the year and those containing Sartorius filter capsules until 2012.

In return, Sartorius is to provide Thermo Scientific Fisher with filter units for the next half-decade.

Reinhard Vogt, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Sartorius, commented: "The main target of this agreement is to optimally satisfy customer needs and to enable a continued product supply for their validated process applications."

Sartorius earned sales revenue of 521.1 million euros (£356.8 million) and employs about 3,900 persons.

The news follows an announcement that the University of Rhode Island is to partner with Sartorius to provide modern equipment to students and biotechnology professionals.
